A Note from Alex:
When I released Pure Unadulterated Me in 2012, I had no idea what was in store for me. Events have snowballed so dramatically that my life is more amazing than I could have dreamed possible. In February 2013, I was incredibly humbled to be able to attend the Artists in Music Awards as a nominee for Best Country Artist…and it was all because of YOU!
Pure Unadulterated Me was most definitely a labor of love and an unbelievable learning experience. It helped me discover more about myself and my music than I ever would have believed. That being said, upon returning home from Los Angeles I decided to shake things up and return to my roots.
I grew up in the countrified Northwoods of Minnesota going to more concerts per year than most attend in a lifetime. I think back to all the jug bands, Folk artists, Bluegrass music, Americana, and more and it’s overwhelming how amazing it all was. I want to incorporate my roots into my music without losing the contemporary feel that has brought y’all into my life and kept you coming back.
I have assembled a rag-tag group of friends/musicians with me to form The Back Roads...they are made up of Kathye (fiddle/cigar-box fiddle), Kary (percussion - washboard, etc), Jared (guitar/mandolin), and a washtub bass player (TBA). Then of course, there is little ol' me with my vocals, guitar, and my new banjo.
I cannot WAIT for you to hear the new music. <3
I hope it makes you smile.
